MEALTIME MANNERS; 1, 2, 3, LET’S EAT!

Help make mealtime more enjoyable for everyone!  This program uses activities and take home handouts to teach appropriate behavior at the table, how to set the table and correct handling of utensils before, during and at the end of the meal.  Children receive worksheets to allow for additional practice at home.

KIDS COOKING WITH CLASS
Delia Culinary Forum – Children’s Classes
Tuesday, August 19, 2008, 10:00am – 1:00pm


 Join the Delia Culinary Chefs for instruction on knife skills, basic safety and serve-safe techniques in the kitchen.  The theme for this class will be brunch and you will be preparing crepes with fruit, poached eggs and breakfast pizza.  Also included in this class you will have an hour of instruction by Marissa Mills of Mills Etiquette to learn how to properly set a table, the use of each utensil in navigating a place setting, table manners,  taking your seat, posture, napkins and excusing yourself from the table

EVERYDAY ETIQUETTE FOR CHILDREN
Ages 7-12

Build confidence and self-esteem by learning how to be appropriate and comfortable in social situations. Topics include: greetings and handshakes, common courtesies, etiquette in public places, acts of kindness and respect, Dining etiquette topics  include learning  proper table manners :formal table settings, proper use of utensils, glassware and dishes, the art of serving and receiving food, dining etiquette, and how to be the perfect host and guest. This class includes hands-on participation and an illustrated workbook.

SOUTHEASTERN CT. CHILDREN’S MUSEUM TWEEN NIGHTS

This all new Tween Program prepares 10 -12 year olds for the world of bigger museums and adult-like experiences.  This three class event will commence with class at the Museum learning about Modern Etiquette and having fun.  The second class will learn the importance skills of Dining Etiquette while enjoying a delicious meal at Frank’s Gourmet Grille, East Lyme, CT.  The final class will be a field trip, exhibiting these new learned skills by visitng the Lyman Allyn Museum to take in the Walter Wick Exhibit.  Tweens attend alone.

                        Saturday, November 1st, 5:00 – 6:30 pm
                       Saturday, December 6 th , 7 – 8:30 pm

TEEN ETIQUETTE FOR TODAY

Help make the transition of the teenage years into the adult world easier.  In this ultimate prep class, teens learn to crate a winning image, sharpen their social skills and prepare for expanding interaction with adults that may make life changing decisions about them.  The class is fun, informative and interactive.  Topics include Meeting and Greeting Others with Style, Creating a Great First Impression, Handshaking 101, Telephone Manners and Courtesies, Social Courtesies and Public Speaking and more.  All Participants receive an Illustrated Workbook to use in class and keep as a lifetime reference book.
